That's what's so special about these sandals. They're a little tight at first, maybe even snug, but gradually become a very comfortable fit. The midsole is great and offers plenty of cushioning while still being firm. This is where it gets difficult. This sole lasts about two years before wearing down into a thin paper barrier between your foot and the ground. Please understand that I often wear mine. I run 2+ miles in them daily and also just wear them around the house. For reference, an old pair of Reebok sandals has lasted me over 10 years. I have the second pair of Verticos in 2.5 years.
