I ordered 2 of these chargers and neither screwed the clamps onto the bracket. Even after the ball was placed in the socket, the threads did not open wide enough to unscrew the ring. They look cheap, but they really work. I can't tell exactly how many watts are being sent to the phone, but it does indicate that it's charging. I was able to remove the base mount from the back and double glue it to the truck's existing mount with some success. The cell phone hardly holds. even with a magnetic safety mount. The magnets barely seem strong enough to hold the phone. The other bracket is in our car and barely hangs on the air vent. I can detach it and use it next to the bed instead of using it as a prop for my phone.
