Review on 🎮 Retro-Bit Official Sega Genesis USB Controller: Arcade Pad for Sega Genesis Mini, Switch, PC, Mac, Steam, RetroPie, Raspberry Pi - Clear Blue by Michael Reese

Mine arrived a day early (thanks Revane!) allowing me to spend a lovely few hours on a Saturday night playing old classic Genesis games, everything from Sonic to NBA Jam, from Super Hang On to shooters like Steel Empire and run 'n gun games like Mega Turrican and Gunstar Heroes. This is a wonderful controller. It feels great in hand. The cross feels great and is very tight and responsive. The buttons are comfortable and feel comfortable. The controller looks cool too and I love the official Sega branding. It may be sacrilegious, but I then used this controller to play some Nintendo games like Contra and Over Horizon and SNES games like UN Squadron. Great experience. Disadvantages - no turbo. If I could buy the same turbo controller for 5-10 bucks more I would in no time. Also, while the cable is long enough, it could be more flexible and bendable. Given the bargain price, I can't give a star for these little things. This is a great controller for the price. I have several controllers, each a mix of pros and cons - Xbox 360 (d-pad mediocre at best), Xbox Elite (good, best d-pad but very heavy and I've found compatibility can be an issue and the price over was above), Dualshock 4 (great controller, very good d-pad but needs a 3rd party app like input mapper to make it work with windows) and 8bitdo N30 pro 2 (very good wireless controller, has turbo mode, d-pad too small the L and R buttons are awkward to use). This controller could be my new retro gaming controller. It has my favorite D-Pad out of the ones I just mentioned. And while the lack of a wireless connection can be seen as a downside, a wired connection can also result in less lag/input lag and increase the "it just works" factor. Overall I'm very happy I added this to my controller arsenal. This is going to be my favorite retro controller, especially for the Genesis. And the shoulder buttons make it the perfect Sega Saturn controller. The price is very fair as it is well built and well executed technology. I just wish it had a turbo for some shooters, but this controller is excellent. Good game!
