I wasn't impressed with these hole saws. You can see the photos and videos I posted. It was exhausting just punching a few holes. The first was through a piece of 1/2 inch thick plywood with my drill press. Long story short, my store smelled like smoke for several hours (you can see it in the video). It then took 30 minutes to get the carved circle out of the chisel. No exaggeration. The next day on a 2 x 4 and larger diameter chisel. That was just as disappointing if not more so. First, the chisel isn't deep enough to make it go through a 2x4. There is a spring, the depth is even less than it seems at first glance judging by the depth of the drill, so I removed the spring and then finally worked out the system for drilling the pilot hole with a separate drill. hole saw on each side. It worked fine. But of course there will be many applications where you don't have access to the other side of the board. He walked through the war zone. I just don't expect them to last very long even with very moderate use. The teeth are very rough. it's not very sharp. They immediately fill up with debris. This creates a lot of friction, which generates a lot of heat. This is partly due to the poor construction of hole saws in general. Forstner bits cut more efficiently and produce a clean hole. But they are very expensive. On the contrary, this hole saw set is well priced for such a wide range of sizes. Overall I was very disappointed. I believe they are good for drywall and other very soft materials like 1/4" thick board. So I leave them for those purposes. But even for thin softwoods, these hole saws just don't do the trick. .
