Value for Money

I've read a few reviews of these machines from various vendors and I know the good and bad stories. This car arrived very well packaged. It was coated with rust remover and wrapped in a plastic bag. This in turn was welded into a molded block of clamshell foam, which was then placed inside a cardboard box with plastic tape - nothing rattles. This box was then placed in a Revain box and delivered - well done. Contents also included a pack of 10 needles, a spool of nylon thread, extra bobbins and an extra bobbin case. I cleaned the machine as a precaution and deburred some of the sharp edges. One nut secures the crank/cam wheel and the other nut secures the spool stand. After loading the spool with the included thread, I threaded the machine and checked that everything was ok. The stitch length is easily adjustable, as is the thread tension. The sewing foot is quite sharp, but the feed is positive. It leaves marks on the smooth surface of the material, but can be smoothed down a bit with a stone - this is hardened steel. The machine easily pierces leather (3/8 inch), nylon fabric (9/19 inch) and multiple layers of canvas air duct. Throw away the guide and watch some YouTube videos. The included stand is rough and wobbly, but functional. I bought this machine to sew randomly bulky materials and it does exactly that. For the price nothing compares - would happily buy another one if I wanted to.
