Good idea BUT this one is better for smaller phones and the plastic isn't strong enough, it looks like it will break into pieces any day. I have a 2016 Chevy Equinox, it has side vents and a rounded dash with a windshield that are far from me so none of the other types of mounts will fit on it, and with my camera's protective case, it's heavier than most batteries. This case locks the phone in place when hands cup it while it's on the lip. So to remove the cell you have to press the unlock button when you put a normal sized cell in it, or your hands won't snap OR you won't be able to reach the unlock button when you want to take off your phone. If I put my normal sized cell on it daily, it breaks in a few days, since she only use it for my small cell, it breaks in less than 6 months. I use my regular sized rideshare ride cam but that won't work for this so I'm still stuck with my old rubber band holding my camera to the air vent until I find something better. *photo follows*
