Review on Wireless Monitor and Motion Sensor for Smart Caregiving: The Economy Edition by Mike Hicks

Peace of mind for caregivers young and old!

I bought this item to give family peace of mind and 24 hour care for my dad. He was so slippery he could get out of bed and crawl across to the bathroom, and even with a baby monitor no one could hear him. He was extremely independent and was annoyed if anyone sat in front of his room. We knew it wouldn't tolerate an alarm and the motion sensor was the perfect solution. We managed to put him in a corner of his room which he didn't notice. As he sat down on the bed and lowered his legs, the doorbell rang in the room where the nurse was sitting. He only told me once that he thought someone was at the door but I assured him it was the TV. He was never surprised that someone magically appeared to him whenever he sat on the edge of the bed. It was very helpful and gave us all peace of mind. Tip for the caregiver: If the doorbell rings, the caregiver must turn it off before entering the room, otherwise it will ring when the sensor detects the presence of the caregiver. I now keep a monitor and motion sensor in my house and will be bringing it out when our three year old grandson arrives. I use it on his bedroom door at night to keep it from wandering around, and I put it over the front door so it doesn't slip out unnoticed during the day. This money was well spent!
