The right product for me, the price suited me.

I use a week. I bought it for a stationary (desktop) computer as a quiet, cold non-system drive. The computer itself is very quiet, so I wanted a quiet hard drive, but the toad presses to buy an SSD (hard drives of this volume now cost inadequate money). Therefore, the choice fell on this hard drive. The reviews write that it crackles - yes and no. If you use it in a metal box or "hard" fix it on the metal cover of the system unit, then yes, you can hear it when reading / writing. But if you use rubber dampers, then it will become inaudible at all. But on heating, everything is not so smooth. At rest, the temperature is normal, in the region of 35-37 degrees (t in the room is 26 degrees). But as soon as you start actively writing / reading something, this HDD heats up . up to 49 degrees! And this is in a desktop computer, where the cooling is better than in a laptop! After the read/write operations stop, the temperature drops to normal in about 10 minutes. In my life, I have observed such heating in a 2.5" HDD only in ST9250610NS - a server 15 mm hard drive at 7200 rpm. I can assume that the reason is SMR - technology of tiled magnetic recording . . but summarizing current experience, I can say that this drive in a laptop is suitable ONLY for "cold" storage, without any heavy tasks like torrenting. After the purchase, I immediately checked the surface with the Victoria program - everything is within the normal range (see screenshot). Let's see what happens in a year. If anything happens, I'll ate my review.

Pros
  • Inexpensive compared to other models of 2.5 "hard drives for 2 TB. Acceptable performance, 128 MB cache. Well packaged (carton box plus thick bubble bag). Pretty quiet, although that's to be expected for a laptop HDD.
Cons
  • Under a typical load (for example: downloading a movie ~ 10 GB from torrents at a speed of 100 Mbps), it heats up rapidly. This is quite unexpected for such a form factor (for more details, see the comment).

I've been using it for about two months now, no complaints. No marriage, came in a box well packaged. I am satisfied with the purchase.

Some pros: Working disk, memory capacity. Has cons: Will not fit into some modern laptops. Thickness 9 mm, against 7 on 1G.

Pros below: Seems to be the most affordable in this volume-size Has some cons Not the thinnest, it didn’t fit into a compact laptop, unlike a black WD 1 TB

The normal screw, costs, works. While little time has passed, during the first six months it will be clear whether everything is fine

I use it as the main storage on a laptop, for games, music, etc. works flawlessly. Pulls even cyberpunk without brakes.

Has pros: the declared capacity corresponds! doesn't get very hot. With its cons. the noise level is higher than stated. not critical but not pleasant.
