Review on Unlocked AMD Ryzen 7 3700X: 8-Core,16-Thread Processor with Wraith Prism LED Cooler - Perfect for Your Desktop Needs! by Agung Budiyanto ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I didnt expect the quality to be so high.

A very good (downright popular) processor that combines performance and moderate heat dissipation. An additional advantage is the ideal default setting (in 99%, manual setting will not give anything). In terms of heat dissipation, everything is average, with weak coolers temperatures can reach up to 40-45 at rest, and up to 95 (maximum speed for this processor) under load. With the top ones (Noctua DH-15), the temperature at rest is 32-34, and 68 at max load (without overclocking and with PBO disabled). The maximum frequency (at 4400 MHz) is given only for one core (and even then it is not guaranteed). All eight cores usually work no higher than 4200 MHz. Of the nuances - maximum performance is achieved only in conjunction with RAM with a frequency of 3600 MHz. If the frequency is higher or lower, then there will be performance losses (though not large 2-6%). And a few words on overclocking and tuning. Overclocking is almost meaningless, because. a 5% increase in performance leads to a sharp (10-15 degrees) increase in temperature, with all the ensuing problems. But limiting TDP can have a very positive effect on work - we lose 2-4% of performance at 10-15 degrees of temperature (single-core performance even increases). Some numbers for statistics. The maximum operating voltage for the processor is 1.5V. The average working for my copy is 1.25-1.36V with rare jumps up to 1.48V. Downvolting did not give positive results (as well as increasing the voltage). Activation (PBO) spun the turntables to maximum speed, temperatures rested at 95 degrees, performance increased by 4-6% (only in multi-thread). Maximum frequencies 4388 MHz (1 core), 4375 (2-4 cores), 4275 (8 cores). These indicators are very dependent on the specific instance, the cooling system (cooler + case), and of the motherboard and settings.

Pros
  • Excellent performance per watt/ruble Set up almost perfectly out of the box Medium hot (as an advantage)
Cons
  • Current price Almost complete pointlessness of overclocking Small spread of parameters from instance to instance Medium hot (as disadvantage) Maximum frequencies are almost never reached There are memory requirements

Some pros: - top in 2022 (statistics confirm this) Has cons: - there will be no strong overclocking effect ("overclocking out of the box")

Some pros: Performance that lasts for a long time. Different cons: Unreasonably high voltage out of the box.
