So there's a few things to unpack about these piercer-derived needles. They're incredibly sharp, I'll give you that. But it has a plastic catheter on the outside that you have to push through and blunt force trauma to it. I bought 14 gauge needles to insert 16 gauge jewelry into and through the puncture. The problem is that the needle is not 14 gauge. There is a catheter. Therefore, you cannot simply remove the catheter and expect an earring stud to be inserted into that needle. Second, they only fit flat-backed pegs that go through the back of the ear. The needle has a housing that cannot be removed. Please only buy genuine piercing needles that are designed to do this. These just won't do the job.
