Review on World Globe Kids Spinning Geography by James Nielsen

Revainrating 3 out of 5

It's small and not very strong

My son who just turned seven loves all things science. By the age of 5 he knew all the planets, dwarf planets and what AU is. His wife noticed that he particularly liked watching videos about countries, capitals and country statistics. So she decided to buy this globe. I desperately needed an interactive glowing globe that would not only show the topography, but when touched with the stylus would communicate the relevant facts such as capital, currency type, spoken language, etc. But such a globe costs 100 dollars. So we decided on a simple globe. Don't get me wrong my son loves it and I regularly ask him questions to find different countries and I teach him latitude, longitude and coordinates as well as the location of the equator, the tropics of Cancer and Capricorn and the Prime Meridian. International Date Line. Although the globe is small, we can use it to easily distinguish countries, parallels, and meridians. However, my 18 month old grabbed the thing and nearly ripped it off the base. It's really a globe for reference, but mostly for a bookshelf or desk or office corner in my opinion. For true reference I recommend a larger globe and for more interaction an interactive globe. But for our needs it's fine now.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
