I needed shoes to walk around town and they turned out great. I haven't worn them to work or anywhere that would require me to stand for more than 8 hours so can't speak to that, but they are great for running for hours. They didn't need to be broken in as they felt immediately comfortable and didn't cause me to chafe or blister. My only complaint is that the sole is such a soft material that I stepped on a rock and the small rock got completely stuck in it. Foam like the shoes were made out of marshmallows. I had to dig. I don't think it went through the sole because it was a pretty small stone but keep that in mind. Not very durable material. I wouldn't walk in them as they don't have laces to tighten and I think if I tried to walk in these shoes without laces they would slip off my whole foot but as a hiking shoe they've been great so far.
