The flow switch must remain on for 2 minutes after the water is stopped to clean the water in the filter chamber. I tested it and it's not, it turns off immediately. Also, as others have pointed out, there is a slight delay before the lights turn on once the water starts to move. This might not be that big of a problem if the water in the chamber was sterilized by the flow switch by leaving it on for 2 minutes, but since it isn't I think it's just letting raw water through. I contacted the company for an answer. Maybe there are old flow monitors in there or they are defective. Or maybe the claim is false and they never expected anyone to verify it.
