Review on SCOSCHE MMVP2FR MagicMount Fresche FreeFlow: Magnetic Vent Mount with Replaceable Air Freshener for Fresh-smelling Cars by Jemar Lorenzo

The best mount for my Ridgeline! Reserved, unobtrusive.

I'm the pickiest person I know when it comes to car phone mounts. I literally hate giant colorless phone mounts sticking out of dashboards, cup holders or windshields. I also live in Maine so I don't like the idea of blocking the air vents with my phone. We either turn the air conditioning or the heating up to full blast. There's really nothing in between, and I know it can't be good for a phone. I love my phone blending into the dash and looking as close to factory as possible, which is not an easy task. Of all the cars I've owned, my current Honda Ridgeline Gen 1 proved to be the toughest. The textured dashboard makes it impossible to use any suction cup mounts. I came across this mount and couldn't order it fast enough. Installation took some trial and error, but I ended up finding the perfect spot. I don't like sticking anything to the phone so I just put a metal plate between the flat phone case and the phone. The magnetic field is very strong and my phone sits very securely on this holder. Adding a car air freshener to the air outlet is a very clever idea. It covers my old dog's smell well. Overall I love it for my Ridgeline. I've finally found what I've been looking for for the last few years. I think this works best on dashboards with different depths. If you have a toolbar that is mostly flat, this might not be the best option. It will stick out a little and won't look as clean. Check out my photos to see what I mean. Tips: If you use wireless charging, magnetic phone mounts may not work for you. The metal plate can become very hot during charging. Do not place the mount in the middle of the vertical vents as it will wobble back and forth with every rotation and is very annoying. Attach the bracket close to the edge of the air vent to prevent swinging.
