It was a strange purchase - so strange that I bought another one. It has improved my sleep so much. What I received was not what was pictured; but the material is just wonderful! sooo soft I ordered a Q set, received a correct size Q bed sheet and pillowcases, but received a K size top sheet that wasn't even cut straight. Also, there is NO gum at all - the picture is wrong. The bottom fitted sheet has some sort of strong cord, almost like fishing line, instead of an elastic band that wraps around your mattress. I have a 12 inch mattress and it fits almost perfectly - I didn't have to strain to put it on because it doesn't stretch at all - but it fits well enough that it doesn't move while I sleep. As such, they tend to huddle together on a smaller mattress. This line or some kind of cord is definitely a weak point if it ever breaks. Another difference. to sew from the description/pictures. NOT very high quality stitched - NO "exquisite stitching" as in the description. It looks like it was done by hand - not very straight forward and just a simple loose stitch. There are no double stitchings on either the sheet or the sleeves and it actually looks like they are hand sewn rather than machine sewn. Also - it's okay, but even the label is sewn wrong. It's on the back and at the very top - right on your face or neck. I think it has the wrong information on it, but I've washed it in warm water several times. They've held up well and that's what makes them remarkable - the fabric is absolutely the softest and I sleep so well in it. They are light and so wonderfully soft and not hot at all. So all the odd stitching and no elastic in the bottom sheet is what I got. I ordered my second set because even with non-machine stitching and the wrong sheet size I would have no hesitation in using them on a guest bed. This is the best bedding I've ever had.
