When I ordered it I thought it was pure silicone. Received it, it failed the pinch test. It appears to have padding and is not 100% silicone. I ordered the Colonel Popper which is 100% silicone. Then I tried to make popcorn. That's great. The perfect popcorn. Pleasant, fluffy, dry, very tasty for me without oil and salt. Very good for health. Our LG microwave has a popcorn button that uses a humidity sensor to determine when to stop cooking. It works great with this popper. Wonderful! Just pop in some popcorn (between the bottom and top fill lines), cover with a lid, throw in the microwave and in a few thoughtless minutes you'll have perfect popcorn! I assumed Colonel Popcorn would do the same thing, just with pure silicone. I don't understand the difference but it doesn't work with our microwave. Guaranteed burnt popcorn when we use the popcorn button on our microwave. When we set or stop the time manually, it works great. And it's a lot more than that. Overall, Colonel's Popper isn't worth the hassle for me and my microwave. This popper (as seen on TV etc) works great. Doesn't take much time. This outweighs any purported benefits of pure silicone. So let's put this behind us and get Colonel Popper back.
