These ties are strong and durable. I didn't notice any slipping. The instructions state that the tie will slip off if it is inserted into the buckle in the wrong direction. So you have to be careful with it. The buckle has markings showing in which direction. A good tug shows whether you have done everything right. It was a bit difficult to get the tie through the buckle but we managed it in the end. The "soft binding" of each tie is achieved by a loop at the back that allows you to wrap the S-hook twice into the tie's loop. This soft bow is only at one end of the tie. A colored thread runs through one side of the tie so you can make sure the hooks are evenly spaced. All in all good relations.
