Easy do it yourself replacement

I replaced the gears, motor clutch and clutch assembly. Below is my review for it, just in case it's helpful. If you're lucky enough to just make gears, this is really easy. Watch a video or two on YouTube and you're done. When replacing the gears, I noticed a significant increase in the agitator's performance, although they were not yet broken or completely worn out. This is an inexpensive and very easy way to improve the performance of your washing machine. There are great YouTube videos online showing how to do this and you should definitely check out a few before attempting this. My washing machine made a grinding noise, didn't spin the drum and didn't bother. I've had this washing machine for about 13 years now and it's the first repair I've had to do other than a sock somehow getting caught in the pump. It has been very heavily used throughout its life so I'm not surprised it broke. I believe the main cause of my failure was the direct drive motor clutch, but I'm not sure because it could have been something in the clutch assembly as I noticed significant wear. Also, my agitator gears were badly worn and I noticed a significant improvement in agitator performance after replacing them. I decided to replace the clutch assembly, direct drive motor shaft coupling and agitator pawls/gears. I bought all the items from Revain and once I had them together my adventure began. I didn't remove the metal shell around the washing machine tub as you can see in the video, I just turned it over, drained the water and did all the work under and in the drum. Watch the video again on YouTube. I feel sorry for the fool trying to do this without watching the video and I hope you have a better understanding of home appliances than I do. Aside from my photos, these are my tips for others: Pic 1-3) The motor couplers I bought were very tight. I think they were probably edited to the same size and are by no means slippery. I used the short end of a spark plug wrench from my tool kit and a hammer to insert both ends of the motor pair and it was a hard hit. The old one jumped off the side of the engine fairly easily and I could see where the metal ring in the clutch had split or had done something bad. Matching the two couplers with the black rubber spacer worked best for me when I attached it to the end of the motor and then slid it over the gearbox. Also, older models may not have metal reinforcement inside the white nylon piece, but mine did, so be aware it may look different than the picture. washing machine and you need to remove some parts inside the drum. Watch which part goes where because I managed to get my parts out of service only to find that the snap ring I thought went in the drum was actually in the clutch assembly. I had to redo the whole replacement process and wasn't happy with it. Although I was much faster the second time. Final thoughts - be prepared to get dirty. A lot of fat, pet hair and nasty things accumulate. This resulted in my not being able to watch YouTube videos on the go. I put on gloves on some because of the sharp edges of the sheet metal, but I needed more dexterity so I took them off and got pissed. Slot about an hour or two for this work max.
