I ran out of short V-nails so decided to give it a try. I manually insert V-shaped nails into handmade picture frames. They appear to be packaged for machine installation and are quite difficult to separate by hand. I prefer strip packs to single packs because the sharp edges are easier to see and won't get scratched by the surrounding V-nails. They are very sharp and lightly tapping the assembly tool with a hammer will easily cut through the wood fibers. I've used them on both softwoods (spruce, pine, hemlock) and hardwoods (mahogany, walnut) with great success. The plastic box contains 4000V nails wrapped in oil paper to protect against rust. I doubt I'll run out of them, but when they do appear I'll buy again. When the time comes I will order FramePac V 3/8" and 1/2" nails.
