Plugging the adapter directly into the soda maker eliminates the need to purchase or refill CO 2 soda bottles. Bought a 5lb tank from Revain and chose Air Gas ($20.00 exchange only). Installation was very easy, I had to make a groove in the soda maker to make room for the hose. I've had a drinks machine for a few years and this is definitely the only way out, no more trips to the guy who refills the CO2, only the savings this year pays for the tank and adapter.
