This is an amazing little fan. As others have said we use them mostly on hot summer days at Disney World, Sea World etc. They saved lives by providing just a little cooling to keep you moving until you hide out or tuck into some decent AC be able. They are much more comfortable than the big mens that are sold in the parks for a much higher price. Also, who wants to carry that thing around all day, hop on and off the rides, etc. Nice thing is that you can just refill them at the water fountains, or if you're at Disneyland, ask for a free ice cream and water on one of the vendors and fill them with ice water. As for the plastic carabiner; We own annual passes like Disney so we use them A LOT and they get abused all the time but the carabiners hold together well. My unit is about a year old and still runs like a champ with no leaks or issues. We have several Oni in different colors so you can have fun with color matching.
