Well, my cherished old fashioned pooper scooper with semi sharp nails has seen it's better days for sure, the tines (nails) were bent, the metal that held they was not so sturdy anymore and yet I did not want to go plastic- I wanted something that could get underneath the poop to pick it up, and WOW- this scooper works far better than the other ever did! I also love the longer handle too. FYI I live in Wisconsin, I'm not sure how this will hold up when digging in the frozen snow but it sure is a "10" relative to how it works in all heights of grass!
