Review on Hands-Free Dog Leash With Pouch, Dual Handles & Bungee For Walking, Jogging, Running - IYoShop (Large, 25-150 Lbs, Black) by Nate Mims

Now I'm "that guy " in the neighborhood

Attached photo illustrates some of the awkwardness of the length while stretched as I'm holding the leash by the clip on the very end, instead of the handle.Story: GoldenLab Pit get's nervous during firework season so I try to give him really good work outs so he sleeps off his anxiety. Previously I had been using a bike attachment (also on ebay) and while it was really fun and effective, sometimes it's a hassle to pull the bike out (let alone traffic concerns). Since I sometimes have to intentionally bike slow to not overwork him, I figured jogging with him will be a better solution so we can still hit the far away parks and I can get a little exercise myself.Product: pretty barebone but sturdy fabric. My dog is only 60lbs so I'm not stress testing it. The hip bag seems nice but kinda gets in the way when you want to take the belt on or off. I used to keep my mp3 player in there but in practice, it's less of a hassel to just pocket it and run the headphone under the shirt so it does't tangle with the leash. The handles kinda seem like they are in no mans land in terms of effectiveness. Depending on the orientation you set it up, it seems either too short or too long to handle the dog when you need to so I'm often just grabbing the bare leash. It;s kinda nice to unclip and have the handle on the end to give your dog further reach when it's time to "do business" but with the elastic cord it sometimes feels awkward compared to my retractable or normal leash.Seems like this is more intended for trail running than normal sidewalk routine. You will become "that guy" when your jogging with a dog so if you don't like the attention of strangers be prepared to at least have some throwaway small talk lines because despite how people will notice but not engage with normal fitness joggers, even having a fierce RBF and obvious headphones will not stop the quips and random engagements created because you are running with a doggy. It's been positive so far but I can imagine if you're shy, an attractive lady or your dog is less then super friendly with everyone/thing, you might be put off by the triple amount of attention you'll receive. People just can't handle themselves with such a conversation starter, regardless of how focused you are in your workout. All in all, if you really considered this for active use just pull the trigger because it's a simple design and you'll know after the third use if it's a keeper or return. Maybe if you had a really specific intense need for something nicer or with more features, this product might be limited. But as a casual item that isn't super available in petco it just the job with some quirks.
