The pump spray makes application easier. I spray the concrete steps, front walkway, backyard, driveway and perimeter once a week or every two weeks. There are big cockroaches (or palmetto bugs) in Texas and nobody wants them in the house. I am happy to report that since I took on this task and canceled my contract with the pest company ($80 for every other monthly treatment) I have not seen a live roach in the house. I know I can save time during the weekdays by not having to wait for a pest repeller, save money and have more control over which areas are sprayed while having a satisfying experience as there are no roaches in the house or them walk around the driveway. It stays on after drying when it rains later.
