So far so good. We have a deaf woman who is now 4 years old who was trained with a vibrating collar for recall, not after trying lights and lasers first. Other collars I have found and purchased had a shock function. I always felt terrible when I accidentally pressed that button. This only happened on very low settings and maybe 10 times in 4 years. Although it was 10 times more. With this product, I never have to worry about accidentally electrocuting her! My only complaint at the moment is that there are only 10 levels of vibration strength and one is too many for our Dalmatian. Half the power would be enough for her, and then we'd still have the option to turn her on since she'd be on one. Aside from the fact that I was thrilled that I couldn't accidentally shock her, I really like how light the collar is and how distant it is. Comes with a cable for the remote control.
