2015 Honda Accord Sport Modification Required

This is a well made and attractive pedal cover. Unfortunately this was not a problem for my 2015 Honda Accord Sport 6 speed manual. Problems started when trying to install the baseplate on the accelerator. The back of the gas pedal is made of plastic and is shaped like a bar of soap. The right back is hard plastic while the left back has horizontal ribs spaced about 1/4 inch apart. This makes it difficult for the two metal straps to fit snugly enough to actually hold the pedal cover in place. Here is my experience. 1-2 straps are not adjusted properly to hold the pedal cover. To fix this you'll need to remove some plastic from the back of the accelerator so they fit halfway decently. On my car, the bottom strap was in the very last slot and was too loose. The next slot was too short and the screw hole didn't match. I had a similar situation with the top strap. 2. Due to the design of the accelerator, the cover may just slide off when it comes off unless double-sided tape is used to keep it in place. To fix this I removed material from 2 edges on the left side of the accelerator. This allows some room for each strap to snap between the remaining ribs to keep them from falling off. I used a dremel with a drum sander and slowly removed the rib material a little at a time until I got a tight fit on each band. 3 - Test everything until you get what you want. I used 2 large spacers on the bottom and adjusted the pivot plate to its widest position. Finally I finished all the screws with blue Loctite including the pivot screw for the small adjustable plate. 4 - I've noticed a slight improvement in heel and toe offset, but nothing critical. Basically I just wanted to move the gas pedal back closer to the seat and even with the brake pedal so I don't have to move my foot back and forth between the brake and gas pedal. Conclusion: I wouldn't do it. again. When you consider the cost, as well as the complexity of installing it safely, it really wasn't worth the small win for me. YMMV.
