Review on Bluetooth headset Plantronics Voyager Legend, black by Wiktor Barczuk ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Not everything is so bad, but there are disadvantages.

The story is like this. I bought it 5 years ago when I had android 4. X. In those days, Android did not have noise reduction algorithms for bluetooth adapters (or they were not so aggressive). Worked great and even in a very noisy production room. Starting with android 5 and up to 8, they introduced noise reduction, which does not turn off. I even compared the recording of a call from 4. X and 5. X in an audio editor on the same phone - the volume sank on average by 1.5 times, the peaks decreased by 2.5 times. Also, there were distortions. But not the point. The bottom line is that the noise reduction built into the headset began to crush the voice. Some components deteriorate after a year and a half of use. The voice begins to float in volume and frequency distortion is introduced. They simply don’t hear you at the other end or can hardly make out the speech. I cleaned the holes on the microphone tube, even dismantled the tube and tried it disassembled - all the same, the words are hardly distinguishable. And so with three of my friends, whom I recommended to buy this headset. After 2 years of use, the elastic band of the ear-tip, with which it is attached to the headset, literally disintegrated. It's good that there were 3 inserts in the kit (though not my size). The proximity sensor works 50/50 from the very beginning, the result is that the headset turns off during a call, this is solved by turning it off. And this is not an instance marriage. Everyone is like that. Then I bought another plantronics explorer 500. The voice does not float, but with the noise reduction of the android, they also hear you quietly. His own speaker is initially very quiet. Exactly after the warranty expired, the glue that glued the gasket between the mesh and the speaker membrane spread onto the membrane itself. In general, now it is heard as a whisper from the next room. Isn't that a built-in obsolescence? This is a collusion of corporations, which has gone since incandescent lamps. Note - plantronics products are positioned as one of the best. All this coproeconomics is to blame!

Pros
  • Charging through the magnetic shoe is very convenient.
Cons
  • There is a built-in obsolescence in all plantronics products. Year work normally, further to whom as will carry.
