Good for big jobs, not enough control for small ones

As a person with arthritis AND small hands, I love this tool! Portable and easy to use, it is excellent for large sealing jobs, especially with heavy sealant, such as: B. Applying ground sealant to a cracked log wall. I gave it four stars for two reasons: First, it's hard to control. Even if you screw it all the way in and leave the hole in the seal tube small, you can't control it well enough to make a nice looking bead. Second, it tends to blow out the end of the seal tube, causing fouling at the spool end. It is difficult to clean as it has many nooks and crannies filled with sealant. I ended up resorting to putting newspaper plastic bags over the pusher to fully protect the rod as it travels up the seal tube. When the sealant oozes out on the back it ends up in the bag and I can just throw the whole thing away without spending 30 minutes cleaning it.
