I tried beading needles #10, 13 and 15. Size 15 was too heavy to thread (the first one broke). Size 13 was ok but I wanted to see if I could do with something bigger. Size 10 was strong and easy to thread, but too big for some of my small beads. So I bought her. I am very happy with them and will use them often. I mostly use 4 lb test firelines with them. I don't find it too difficult, but I have a backlit magnifying glass that helps. Lately I've been trying not very small beads, mostly just size 10 and 11, as well as some polished and other Czech beads, as well as some semi-precious beads, and they have worked well in all these cases. (They're too big for beads. You really need a twisted wire needle with a beading eyelet.) They bend a bit, but I've found it perfectly acceptable to use curved beading needles. The only place you might have a little trouble is when using coated Czech beads. Due to the way the color is added, the holes are sometimes slightly smaller or partially blocked compared to Japanese beads. If so, just take another bead. Beads are almost always sold in quantities well in excess of what you'll actually need for a project, so I've always considered a few losses to be acceptable. Anyway, I'm very happy with these needles so far. I have successfully completed three projects with them and they all show that they will last a long time.
