overall the backpack is great. It has multiple pockets to store various items, as well as two water bottle pockets and a shoe compartment. BUT. The water bottle pockets are not deep at all. If you have a hydroflask or similar I will say they are not the best fit. Straps on the sides of the backpack add a little security. The bottom straps don't hurt the bag either. The shoe compartment is convenient, very roomy, although it takes up a lot of space at the top of the backpack and creates an awkward shape inside and can prevent you from putting larger items inside. (e.g. belt for which I mainly used this backpack). When I first put the shoes in the backpack, I had a hard time tucking the strap into the top compartment. I would give 3.5 stars if I could and can return it.
