This is a higher quality filter kit for my reverse osmosis/ventilator. . Everything worked better than expected. You must purge the system after the activated carbon block to prevent the smallest carbon particles from entering the RO block. The RO block should be rinsed for 30 minutes to remove the antibacterial film that manufacturers add before packaging. After rinsing, bond the block with the DI resin. I had to pour out the first few ounces of liquid to flush out the post-carbon block. Worked so well that the TDS readings immediately after the first three (3) stages (sediment, carbon block filter and reverse osmosis unit) were only "8", "0" after the DI filters. Very happy with this purchase! Attractively priced. The taste was fresh and clean compared to the sample I poured from our faucet which tasted heavy and metallic. Update: (February 26, 2020) DI resin still works fine. Still a TDS value of "0" for product water. The TDS value when filtered by DI is consistently at "8", which is amazing! I used to change the DI resin every 2 weeks and was only getting 20 gallons when that's the case. Now that I have this kit (SimPure) it has already exceeded 200 gallons and the TDS is still stable.
