Review on OSTER 6640-NP1 10-Speed White Blender with 48 Ounce Plastic Jar by Richard Sallah

Revainrating 5 out of 5

great value for money / perfect service, reliable and easy to clean

I've been reading reviews of blenders here at Revain as I take my trusty old Oster from the office with me would like a user for fresh veg smoothies and thought I'd "upgrade" the one I have at home. Boy I have to say I've had my cheap oster for 6 years, I use it every day and haven't had the problems some people have had with 8x priced blenders! Easter fool. Of course it leaks if you don't screw the bottom on tight enough or forget the rubber washer. otherwise tight as a drum. Yes, the rubber top warped in the dishwasher, but who cares? This is soft rubber; it still folds up and fits snugly. Of course the little plastic center in the lid cracked/fell off a long time ago. I just cover this part with my hand or a lid when the liquid is hot. (It actually broke during mixing so I wouldn't use it at all if I were you). Thing is, I've used this baby extensively for 6 years and it still crunches fruits, veggies and hot soups are good as you like. To clean, I just open the bottom (or not if I'm really lazy that day) and quickly rinse everything out. Once or twice a week I throw everything in the dishwasher except for a rubber washer. You might think the blade is too dull to be useful, but it's actually fine. I've mixed ice cream with it but I don't do it regularly so maybe that's one of the reasons. Anyway, I'll ditch the fancy $150 blender idea and buy a second cheap Oster that's worth the investment. I am in no way affiliated with this company/product.

Pros
  • 450w motor, powerful enough for tough blending tasks
Cons
  • Unbelievable price
