Vilo devices didn't work with my cable modem when I first tried to set up the system and it took quite a while to finally get things working. Once set up, the devices offered quite good coverage and transmission speeds. I found the lack of any advanced options a bit disappointing. I had to assign a static IP address to some devices and the rest used DHCP, but I found this was not possible. The biggest problem I found is the media server running on my local network. Basically, Vilo devices were blocking access to the server port and I haven't found a way around this issue. So if you only need the most basic router settings, these devices will likely work just fine. If you need to do any configuration, even if it's a little advanced, you're most likely going to be out of luck.
