Works very well and is reliable but there are a few steps you need to take to ensure you enjoy this product. The first thing I bought was a TORRAS Slim Fit hard plastic phone case. It provides a smooth and durable surface for the adapter to attach to. Second, I had to make sure my phone released the steering wheel when rotated to release. I also wanted to make sure my phone was facing straight when it was locked. Since you only get one chance to attach the adapter to your phone case, a little preparation helps. I made a template out of cardboard the same width as my phone case. The template has a hole in the middle for attaching the adapter. The template can be attached to the phone case with a pair of rubber bands or cable ties. The critical point is that the template protrudes from the bottom of the phone case a distance equal to the distance from the pivot point to the bottom corner of the case minus the distance from the pivot point to the bottom edge of the case plus a few millimeters (1/4 inch) for extra leeway. After attaching the template to the phone body, attach the adapter to the Garmin mount and remove the adhesive cover. Attach the phone case to the tape, making sure the underside of the template is flush with the steering wheel. Then I tightened the clamp, made sure it was centered on the Garmin mount, and let it sit overnight. Now it works like a charm.
