Impressive in all categories

First of all, I have never recorded video with a handheld camera and never will, so this review is for photography only, not camcorders. I consider myself an advanced assembler who has been dedicated to photography for 40 years. I can't say enough good things about the R5 - I got it with the RF 24-105 f4L lens. I also have a Canon adapter and have used the adapter with all my lenses (Tamron, Sigma, Rokinon and Canon - all EF) and they all work perfectly - in some cases better than my 6DMII which I upgraded from. The autofocus is amazing, the eye AF is just magical. It fixes as advertised and works great with all birds (even hummingbirds) and animals - sometimes it can capture what looks like an eye (in my case a zebra nose), but 99% of the time it's amazing. Low light is great - I would have never dreamed of shooting at 2000, 3000, 10000 or even 20000 ISO in the past but with this camera even at 20000 the detail is great and the noise is minimal. All buttons are programmable and placed exactly where I want them - easy to set up. The built-in image stabilization is really good. I've found that I can shoot handheld with shutter speeds as low as 1/2 or 3/4 second - not all photos come out perfect, but with practice I can get all the others with crisp detail. This is my first mirrorless camera - seeing the shot through the viewfinder as it's being captured is a game changer. Battery life is good - not as good as my 6DII, but the good news is that the batteries on this camera work in the R5 too, so I have 6 good batteries. I still get 300-1000 photos depending on what I'm shooting. And at 20 fps with eye-tracking, virtually any photo of a bird in flight is perfectly sharp - the files are larger, so plan for more storage. I am delighted and would buy it again
