Review on 🛏️ Colgate Mattress Portable Foam Crib Mattress - 38.5" L x 24" W x 3" H (EC324F) by Joyce Swihart

We bought this mattress for our tote which came with a very limp 1/2 inch pillow. It fitted the crib well (no gaps) and initially we were happy with our purchase as it claimed to be a more natural mattress and we hoped our son would be less exposed to toxic fumes. At first it didn't smell like chemicals or plastic. We also liked that it was made in the USA and that it was reasonably priced. However, when my son got out of the travel cot, we put the mattress with the sheet in his closet to protect it from dust. Recently I was changing a mattress and took off a sheet to put in the closet and there was a very strong chemical smell - so bad I had to take it outside. And when I looked at the label, it said 100% polyurethane, which means it's most likely doused with flame retardants, since untreated polyurethane is extremely flammable. This is not stated in the product description. Definitely a frustrating example of greenwashing a product.
