I have replaced all light bulbs in my house with either CFL or LED. The kitchen has 5 built in spotlights so I bought 6 of these dimmable CFLs to put in there. If I had known what they are like (I should have read the other reviews more closely!) I would have just bought the undimmed CFLs. These bulbs are basically NOT ADJUSTABLE, they dim from 100% to around 80% brightness and then flicker. They also hum quite loudly in each dimming. The technology just isn't there yet, so I think they're selling it to take advantage of people like me who want to make everything energy efficient. Another option I might do in the future is to buy dimmable LED bulbs, although the shape doesn't look like a spotlight. So save your money and wait for these kind of bulbs to work better.
