Review on πŸ‘” Refined Style and Durability: CNHUALAI Ratchet Genuine Leather Automatic Men's Accessories and Belts by David Miller

Strange Landing. Bad smell.

I am very sensitive to smells and the first thing I noticed about this belt was the strong musty smell. It goes away if I leave it in the sun for a few days, but it's annoying. Maybe real leather is processed differently now and has a special smell, but it's definitely ugly and I'm deducting a star. I have received other leather and similar products packaged in odor absorbing paper. This belt was wrapped in plastic and sealed in a Mylar plastic bag to keep any exhaust fumes inside. Maybe that's why the beginning is a bit painful. The design is unique among other ratchet straps I've tried. A ratchet isn't a zipper or snap mechanism, it's a clip that catches weak cuts in the material. It's a feature and it works, but it's a bit weird. The end of the belt runs inwards and at my 34 inch waist I found it a bit long to fit in my pant loops. It is not adjustable as the buckle side is metal and visible and the free end is rounded and needs to be rounded to slip into the belt loops. I think cutting this belt will also result in a rough black edge, which will not look good. I would not recommend this belt size for people with a smaller waist than me (34 inches). I also don't think it will fit anything over 38 inches. I measured and the first click on the belt handle was just under 39 inches. After the smell is gone and the belt is put on, it is really beautiful. It's an attractive leather and thick enough not to sag at the back. I love the style of the 16/Black buckle and find it goes well with both casual and evening wear.

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • Too long to wait
