So far so good! suitable for landline

Updated because I found the user manual - I thought there were no instructions. He fell out of the box and hid under the coffee table. πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈ*** So far so good! I bought this phone for my elderly mother who was having trouble with a cordless phone. Because of her poor eyesight and limited motor skills, she finds it very difficult to press the right button. I decided to try a relatively simple corded phone with buttons on the base so it doesn't accidentally touch the buttons on the cheek. I've just installed and tested this phone at my home and have a few notes and instructions that I hope will help future buyers. I've added photos to make the setup process easier. Please note that I've added some labels (including a sticker for the speakerphone).1. The handset is connected to the base at the bottom left. When you remove the cable from the tube, it's quite difficult to find the right angle to reinsert.2. The power cord plugs into the jack next to the phone volume.3. Yes, there is a handset volume control! This is a small black switch that toggles from low to high.4. Memory keys: To save a number, lift the handset. Press save once, enter the number, then press the save button you want. I made the mistake of flipping the cards that came with them and writing initials on them without making sure they were back in their slots. All three are a slightly different shape, so if you're planning on writing on the back and don't want to cut off the small inserts, match the number you want with M1 etc. first. 5. To answer, you can either pick up the handset or press the speakerphone button. To switch from the portable phone to the speakerphone, you can press the speakerphone button during a call and then replace the handset in the cradle. You need to press the speakerphone again to hang up (or you can pick up the handset and then press the speakerphone to switch back to manual calling).5. The included rubber phone case seems useful for my mum but it was very, very difficult to put on. I doubt anyone with arthritis or shaky hands would be able to do this. It was difficult for me to deal with and I usually do well with such tasks.

Pros
  • Keep it simple - memory keys are easy to program and easy to use; Dial a phone number on the speakerphone with one touch. Our best landline for seniors and a leader in products for people living with dementia.
Cons
  • Weak sentence
