RIP Gear Fit 2 ScreenSometime 2017 - 21st July 2021 I had a watch strap in the first week, it fell off my wrist 3 times. I should have returned it then. It is too late now and my poor fit has suffered the consequences of my carelessness. I have had a Fit 2 Gear since 2017 and have managed to keep it scratch and crack free. til today. Now I have a Gear Fit 2 with a cracked screen :( It's been 2 days since I last attached my stylish new strap to my trusty Gear Fit. I woke up like any other day. I ate my toast and leave the house. ... the watch strap nestles lovingly on my wrist, I drove to my destination without drama, I had no idea the drama was about to begin. I open the car door to get out of the car and all went well for such a gray day. Then I close the car door and turn to walk away from the car. At this point, the harness betrayed me for the last time. I didn't realize my trusty Gear Fit bounced off my wrist until I heard everyone's fear of the screen hitting the ground. you know the sound a sound that producers cannot overcome. Cracking the smooth glass surface of an electronic device :O! Now my bad landing will live the rest of its life with a single crack in the bottom left corner. A cold reminder that a $10 third-party watch band cannot replace a manufacturer's watch band. I've attached a photo of my belt failing. I will share a gruesome photo of the broken screen if the manufacturer requests it as proof of the event. Although I think writing such a long post would be proof enough that this watch strap despises me. FYI, the original strap lasted 3 years until the rubber that connects the metal plate to the dial ruptured. Leave the metal plate attached to the dial. I bought a replacement band from another manufacturer for $10, this band lasted 3 months before the same catastrophic failure. This third strap looks visually in perfect condition. I would like to point out that this strap failed for another reason. So I will rule out my dial as a weak link. When reattached to the watchface, the connection seems secure. I can wiggle it with more than enough force and it holds tight. He just seems to have trouble lasting more than a few days.
