I was looking for a decent quality ratchet strap. After getting all the information I could find online, I settled on Anson and Trackline as the two most promising. I bought one of each and am posting this review under both products. At first I'm happy with both. They are both beautiful and the quality of the straps and buckles is good. Mechanisms work smoothly and easily. The straps appear to be made of three-layer laminated leather, which appears to be flexible. Although the photos show trimming with scissors, both are thick enough that you'll probably do better with a sharp knife. The only issue I feel is durability and I will definitely add a star to both if they last a year with continuous use. Update - a year later and looks almost new - 5 stars. Differences: The Anson belt is only 30mm wide, not the advertised 35mm. I liked the tight lightweight straps, but it still annoys me that the sizing isn't right. The Anson buckle, unlike the Trackline buckle, has a metal locking loop. Since all my pants have a belt loop in the front, I don't care anyway. For the trackline, I spent an extra $10 on a stainless steel buckle and it feels solid. Trackline leather feels a little stiffer than Anson, so choose Anson for a lighter, narrower strap and Trackline for a stronger 1-3/8" wide strap.
