I have been using it for 2 years, I removed the rings, put a complete sponge inside the flask and sealed it with a sheet synthetic winterizer at the exit. I also tried to fill it with holofiber (which is balls). Both results are satisfactory. It’s just that on a synthetic winterizer it is necessary to rinse the filler much more often (very fine cleaning), and with a sponge it doesn’t clog longer, but there are doubts that the sponge cell does not miss small particles. The water is crystal clear. From the drop in aeration pressure, it is easy to judge when the filter needs to be cleaned. If you do not close the bottom part with a regular grill, it can in neon-type fish (to death) and fry (Ancitrus, for example). But I adore him for his perfect work (although, I repeat, he looks scary, you can’t hide him). Now for the second aquarium I will buy the same.
