These gel gloves are SO incredibly comfortable! I have joint problems and swelling in my fingers, and carrying heavy objects by the handle can inflame my finger joints. Work gloves don't provide enough padding to prevent this, so I sometimes wrap my fingers in cotton tape over my work gloves to provide extra padding in problem areas. These gloves go well with the work gloves I have and I have had no swelling or joint pain using these gel gloves while doing housework. This is a find! I think the cooling gel also helps prevent pain and swelling along with a cushioning effect. I really like using them to protect my ankles when carrying heavy objects or doing other strenuous activities like chopping wood. I can see them adding and maintaining skin hydration but I will be using them to protect my ankles and reduce pain and swelling. (And extend the life of my joints!) The outer material on these gloves is a sturdy knit that looks and feels very durable. The gel is thick enough to make a big difference by adding plenty of cushioning without feeling bulky or clunky. This is a great product and I highly recommend it.
