Like other reviewers, this is not handcrafted. The box says it is a Classic with model number CM-8A. I just broke my classic 8 cup Chemex that I've had for 5 years and this new one isn't quite the same. First, there's no seam here like my old one, and there's a "CHEMEX" stamp on the bottom of the pan. My alter has an "X" shaped logo cast in glass. These changes appear to be an update they recently made. In any case, it is not manual work and costs about twice as much. Revain has been good with the return but that needs to be fixed.
