Terrible hissing and crackling started happening in my system.
The other reviews were pretty good and for the price I didn't expect it to be great. But the noise was so terrible that I changed the needle. Then I took it off the spin (which took away my volume control) just to look at it and yes it's clear (especially with the new needle). I bought it as an inexpensive preamp so I could temporarily use my amp as speakers for my turntable while I build the system I want. Really pretty terrible.
