This memory foam topper is great. However, it is important to note that the topper's lavender scent was SUPER strong when it was first unpacked. Seriously, I'm pretty sure your whole house/apartment will smell like you're growing lavender plants in the same room once you open the plastic wrap. I really liked the smell - it was amazing! - but for my husband it was so overwhelming that he had to leave the house for a few hours as I opened the windows and let the smell spread. To be honest I was pleased to put this topper on our bed and cut it. This reduced downtime to a few hours (I believe it should air out for up to 24 hours). Despite this, the foam fully expanded in these few hours. After changing the bed, I did what any sane person would do and threw myself at her like a starfish. I sank into the foam of memories and seriously considered falling asleep now. I have to reiterate the point made in other reviews: if you prevent this topper from linting by airing as recommended, it will NOT reach the advertised 2" thickness. I guarantee that's why some reviewers complain about the lack of thickness. - impatience. The topper will be almost flat for the first hour after opening. Remember that this is memory foam and not some other synthetic foam like an old school yellow egg box. This means the foam cells are very fine and the material is extremely prone to tearing under stress. Mishandling of the topper is inevitable, so ignore the reviews of tearing. Our sheet was loose and the topper was beginning to towards the head end of the bed, stupidly I just untied the bottom corners of the sheet and tried to pull the topper to the foot end of the bed, easily ripped the topper where the thumbs were held as the Topper still stuck to the mattress, it still works. This is just one example of why you should be careful and know what you are buying. I will definitely buy this topper again when the current one wears out. I am deeply satisfied with his work.
