I bought this stand because I thought it would be tall enough to stand on the floor and still hold my monitors above my desk so I could place my monitors from can move from my table . First I would like to say that the stand is not strong enough to hold my monitors (24 inches and 15 pounds each) without falling forward. But since I had the stand behind my desk, I was able to lean it against the back of the desk. With this setting it worked wonderfully. If you don't like the idea of propping a stand against a table, see my "OPTIONAL" section below. Aside from the issue mentioned above, the stand still works great, especially considering the price. It allows adjustment in all directions (forward/backward, left/right, up/down, and pan). I was able to position my monitors exactly how I wanted and still have about 5 inches of space between the bottom of the monitors and the top of my desk, which frees up a lot of space wasted by the monitor feet. I have many devices on my desk (USB hub, KVM switch, etc.) that would take up valuable desk space but are now hidden under and behind the monitors. I hate clutter and this solution helps reduce the clutter on my desk. I am very happy with the purchase. OPTIONAL: I have a table with a glass top, so I was a little confused by the thought that the glass would support the weight of the bar leaning forward. I bought a clamp to use to hold the pole on the boat and instead used it to attach the pole to the glass support frame. It worked great. The part that usually holds the rod is exactly the same diameter as the vertical rod on the stand, and it has two C-brackets that I clamped onto the table frame (not the glass itself, but the metal frame that holds the glass holds). ). The whole setup is now rock solid - the vertical bar doesn't move, my glass is protected and now I can adjust the monitors with one hand (I used to have to hold the vertical bar with one hand for all adjustments, but now the vertical bar is securely attached is). Please note that with a wooden or metal table I might never have thought of attaching a vertical pole to the table as monitor setup is usually done once. But if I ever have to give up a glass-topped table, I'm glad I already have that solution.
