Review on ShedRain Automatic Compact Windproof Umbrella Umbrellas by Kristin Lane

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Broke twice after opening.

First off I want to say right away that I didn't buy this umbrella here, but I was so compelled to write a review about this "windproof" umbrella because I was amazed at how this thing works shattered as it was a thin glass decoration falling from the top of a 12 foot Christmas tree. I have used this umbrella TWICE. Once I got it for the first time just to test, the second time was during a real downpour. I believe that the old saying about opening an umbrella inside is unfortunately true, but only for the health of the umbrella. I opened the umbrella, got out of the car into my garage, laid the open umbrella on the ground to dry, and it didn't survive a 3 inch drop to the ground. Literally. I'm 5ft 9 inches tall, I lowered my open umbrella to the ground with my arm fully extended, it shouldn't have been more than 3-5 inches, and this "windproof" umbrella broke like nothing happened. I bet this umbrella can't take a fart, let alone the wind that this "whirlwind" is said to be able to withstand. BUT! It has a lifetime guarantee. So if you want to find or pay for a box, in your busy day, take the time to go to the post office at the "cheapest" time in the world, or pay the UPS shop, etc. to ship it to the manufacturer send , wait 2-4 weeks while they process it to decide if it's under warranty, then you might get a new/refurbished umbrella and then no worries. Me? nope Shedrain you got me for the $25 I spent on this umbrella I will buy another umbrella and you can leave this review. FYI. Most companies that support their products do not require the end user to return anything. Usually, with a defective product, a photo is enough and the company behind the product will ship the new item to their customer's doorstep free of charge.
