The only headphones I own are Shure 215s. I'm not an audiophile or anything so please take what I say with a grain of salt. Sound: Bass is lacking in these headphones (especially compared to the 215s). Some people attribute this to the lack of a seal with the rubber ear cups. (Note that when you bought the headphones they gave away free red foam tips that didn't fit at all. I found some old rubber tips with the same inner diameter and tried to make them a better fit, but that didn't work. Work). The higher tones are definitely crisper and clearer. Fit: I had no idea that real earbuds are so huge. Also, I didn't realize that my ear was really small. These earbuds will definitely stick out of your ear and if you have a small ear like mine you will have trouble fitting and holding the earbuds in your ear. For rubber tips, I usually use the included "medium" size, but I had to upgrade to a large size for this; So if you have a large ear canal, the largest size may not seal at all. Cable: The cable is quite short. I bought these without the mic but they were short compared to the cable that came with the 215. You have to buy cables which cost an additional $15-30. I really wish they would come up with a case too. [Additional comment: The Y-splitter does not have a rubber cable tensioner. I ended up tightening an o-ring to make a tensioner (sorry I don't know the correct term for a component).]
