Definitely not as bright as in the picture! In fact, they were pastel colors. The smell was ok. but I didn't buy them for the oil, so that was fine with me. I used my favorite perfume but it didn't hold the scent like I thought it would. Tried a different oil, didn't work either. I thought buying something new every month would be a great alternative, but nothing sticks and doesn't last long. If you think they're going to smell like a wool dryer ball, they definitely don't. You should probably keep looking.
